On October 10, the OMOA presented the 18 Entrance Scholarship recipients with their $1000.00’s and congratulatory certificates. The awards were presented by OMOA staff at the Midland Campus with the help of Gabrielle Koopmans - Manager, Georgian College, Midland Campus and Rick Corbett - Program Coordinator, Marine and Small Engines – Midland Campus.

 

All students were happy to receive the scholarship and were surprised that it included the cheque that will help to pay for their schooling. The OMOA continues to receive thank you letters from the appreciative students. One student wrote: “This award will help me overcome the financial difficulties most mature students face and bring me one step closer to achieving my goals in the marine industry”.

The OMOA is glad to have had the opportunity to assist a number of students financially as they make their way to becoming active in our industry. It was great to see so many students in the classroom, which shows promising potential for the 5x10 Campaign goal.
